Prof. Esther Cohen

Esther Cohen is professor of medieval history at the department of history, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Jerusalem, Israel. She has taught at Ben Gurion University and at the Hebrew University and fulfilled a number of senior administrative posts. She is a life member of the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences [NIAS], of Clare Hall, University of Cambridge, UK, and of the National Center for the Humanities, RTC, NC, USA. She has also headed a three years’ research team at the Scholion Interdisciplinary Center at the Hebrew University on “Knowledge and Pain.”
